SHOWREEL
Internal projects are my favorites, especially ones as complex as showreels. I love all the moments: searching for connections between possible stories, a huge variety of shots, and match-cuts; composing your soundtrack, and playing with dynamics. And those seconds when you are realizing that you nailed it—you’ve done everything right! Oh! That’s one of the best feelings in my life.

So the situation was that I had a deadline of a week and the shot were so different that I came up with a solution to implement brand elements throughout the video, so that it feels coherent and connected. The client afterwards came back and told it was the best thing to do. Since that showreel happened they got much more sales, which I was glad for.

This is one of the most essential projects of my life. I think I got stuck at least three times. But mainly, what I’ve learned is that I should trust my feelings more. Additionally, I established two pipelines for myself: a structure for getting through the huge amount of footage and a method to compose soundtracks faster.

We needed to create a showreel from social media videos. The main task was to convert the videos from a 9:16 format to a 16:9 format and to seamlessly stitch them together. Additionally, this was one of my first experiences composing music for a video by blending three completely different songs.
